Environmental focus at Norshipping June 9-12

Norshipping, held in Oslo June 9-12, is the largest shipping industry expo in Northern Europe...well, if you exclude SMM in Hamburg. The two are held every other year and both draw huge crowds of shipping industry experts.

It seems that ´Green Shipping´ is higher than ever before on the agenda marked for instance by some of the conferences offered. DNV Efficient Shipping conference is held on Monday 8/6 and the opening conferene, held 9/6, is titled "From crisis to opportunity: Shipping’s role in the fight against climate change". Elisabeth Grieg opens the conference and His Royal Highness King Harald V of Norway will presents the Heyerdahl Award.
The Clean Shipping Awards will also be presented during the opening conference.

Despite some dark clouds in the sky for the shipping business, I'm sure that the sun will come out in Oslo next week and that people use the opportunity to discover even better ways than before of running healthy shipping operations.
